• Swim where you can be seen

  Stay close to shore and near other people. Most reported harm in Lebanon happens to swimmers who were alone or far out when a boat or jet ski approached.

• Assume boats cannot see you

  A swimmer's head is almost invisible from a moving boat. Never rely on a driver spotting you; move towards shore when you hear an engine.

• Check the sea before you go in

  Read the day's conditions and any active warning first. Currents and swell change fast along this coast.

• Know who to call before you need them

  Save the emergency numbers below on your phone. Minutes matter, and coverage is not guaranteed at every beach.

• Report what you see
